Raag Desh

I performed Rag Desh yesterday in a concert hosted at Bhavan, london.
We, bunch of 11 students learnt this raag in 3 weeks duration from a great teacher, 'Subhra Guha', a leading female vocalist of Agra gharana.

During her lessons, she unfolded the beautiful naunces of Raag desh and raised our awareness with the melody of this legendary raag.  Popular Doordarshan (indian public service broadcaster)  video - 'Baje Sargam' is based on Raag Desh.

Music

I always felt that music has amazing power to control mind. However, I have spent almost  90% of my life enjoying that power without understanding mechanics of how it works.

Since last three years, when I started indian classical music, luck turned in my favor.  In the process of learning indian classical music, music has started unleashing itself to me. For this, I'll be eternally thankful to my guru Chandrima Misra, a leading vocalist of Patiala gharana.
